I just ran the nittos all weekend and with adjustable thrust bushings you can dial out any "rubbing"... I did. The 245-40-18/315-30-18s worked well. Only key to remember is to start with COLD pressures as follows for our "HEAVY" 996TTs...

25# front and 24# rear cold. If the track is biased to right vs. left turns, start the left rear at one pound less than the others... You want 36-37# hot, no more... They get greasy beyond that.

Ran them all weekend and once I got them dialed in, they're GREAT!!! Very easy and predictable, and easy to slide and recover... I ran at over 125MPH in the uphill esses at VIR and could slide the car at will without issue with PSM turned off...

Thanks for the report Mike, good news. What caster setting do I need when I have the thrust bushings put in? Stock is 8 degrees.

Mike, great seeing you this weekend! We'll be chattin' more in the coming weeks I'm sure

I ran the NT01 this weekend as was impressed. I enjoyed running them on the GT3 and they didn't disappoint on the Turbo either. The grip is not anywhere near a Hoosier R6 but I am not going to smoke that crack pipe again ($$$) .....besdies, I don't have the setup to run that tire and it's going to stay that way!

I will change the front to the 235 next time out. I didn't like the small clearance I had. Just too close for my liking.

I was chasing my tail all frickin weekend on tire pressures and the halfway point through each session I was driving on greasy skates! Mike, I should have asked you about pressures as I just assumed I could start in the same range as the GT3. I had no idea I needed to be down around 24/25 to get them dialed in. Looks like I need to get back to the track soon to get this sorted out

Doug....you're almost as bad as Lewis!

I know what happens when I place the order for R6's. It ends up costing me 15-20K in suspension, wheels, etc.

I was running 40 hot, and it felt great. Next time I'll try 36-37 and see, and you are absolutely right about controlled slide and recovery - love the Noitto's.

Then ice thing about the Nitto is they really do talk to you well. They are very predictable.

Larry, My Smartcamber gage showes about +7.2, but what I did was adjust them until they cleared the fender liners and lock them down there, and then re-set the toe. Toe was about 1/16 out total (1/32 each side) and worked well.

Did you heat cycle your tires? If so, yourself or from where you bought them from?

I did it myself. You can heatcycle them by running them up to temps for about 10-15 minutes and then parking them. Then you're good to go... That was the advice the boys at Tirerack gave me.

Just put AD08's on the car....on the street they are great. Good in rain too.

They have a decently thick tread, so early on they might be sub-optimal (for like 2k miles).

On turn in, superb....cannot say enough on the feel and stiff sidewalls. Comparisons for me are:

ps2, htr ZIII, conti contact 2, and pirelli OEM's.

I am 99% sure these will be my mid street/R tire for a while. I reviewed a lot of internet comments, but cannot say I have done a DE in them. Of note, I am now solo-ing...so my needs have changed too....

They are not too noisy for my tastes. Others have complained about them.

I drove with them at 60-70MPH for 10-15 minutes.
