Default X73 Suspension

Installed the X73 Suspension package about 6 months ago. Extremely happy with the ride and handling, however it only dropped the height of the car 5mm (1/4 inch) front & rear compared with the OEM (EURO SPEC). When I pulled the OEM suspension out and compared it with the yet to be installed X73 suspension, the X73 was significantly short (hence expected a greater drop). I guess the spring rates on the X73 are much firmer so the car only dropped 5mm. With the shorter strut lengths of the X73 vs the originals. Does any manufacturer produce a lowered spring height for the X73 strut?

Whenever you install shorter springs you force the damper to "limit" it's designed travel..

BTW we can fix you up with calipers that match your dampers..

Kevin, Yes I have noted your 6 Piston Monoblock upgrade.....very very nice! I have my wife's goldfish on e-bay as part of my quest to fund my UMW Stage 2 ZC upgrade. Maybe I can convince the wife with no goldfish to feed I can order the brake package as well !!

Spec on a x73installed on a US car is -30mm+/-10mm, so you're ok. I would not f with lowering springs on a x73 setup, it is the optimal factory tuned competition suspension for your car, you will sacrifice handling.

First post on here , despite being registered for a while , i have recently fitted an x73 kit on my 04 turbo but went a little further by getting gt2 lower adjustable control arms fitted as well and set up by parr motorsport in the uk has made quite a difference to the car.

Any one taken this set up any further by changing the antiroll bars ?

When you install the X73 sometimes it makes the camber way too negative and the stock Turbo adjustment cannot get it into the -1.5 range. Most use the GT3 lower control arms to do this. But a better way IMO is to use adj upper control arms with the teflon inserts. This way it`s less movement and you will have no tire wear issues because your contact patch will be across most of the tire instead of the inner 3" of tread.
