CJ - HEH, I can guess what you've done with your turbos. Very very cool - and it's our secret

Regarding intake air, the CF design you've described should work quite well. It's apparent you and your tuner have thought this through pretty thoroughly. About the only thing I can recommend would be the obvious -- keep the path between the turbo inlet and the air intake as smooth and short as possible; make sure you're not inputting air from a low pressure zone or from somewhere immediately downstream of the radiator; and you could consider putting thermal wrap over the inlet tubes -- but that would be an aesthetic crime considering they're CF!.

I now officially want a ride in this beast

I, at least, totally understand where you're coming from CJV.

After a recent dyno day, I have gained a lot of respect for the tuners that can make the horsepower/torque.

I might be able to make it middle of the week.

FC Racer, those street tires are drag radials. If you think people are going eights on ordinary street tires you need to turn off the cartoon network & go out to the race track some time.

CJV, FC-Racer, et al,

Carlos does not represent the attitude, level of respect for others, or basic Civility to others that is present in the 928 community.

All of us gain from the proactive research and development that happens here on the 996TT board, and I for one appreciate the effort many of you trunkless waterpumpers put forth.

Chad, the Enzo was just tested at 11.1 at 133mph and does 0-125mph in 9.5s. I would estimate the Gemballa GTR EVO 750 at high 10's at 138-140mph with a good launch.

Something wrong there !!

Ben,

Do you have a website with pictures and information on your vipers? I would love to check them out.

Thanks!

Chad,
Your work and efforts are very much appreciated by everyone on this board! Thanks for leting us enjoy the process with you, hopefully we'll all get to see the beast soon.

For future reference you may be using the word convalescing in an inappropriate context. If there is another definition (beyond the standard-to get better, stronger) that I am not aware of please let me know.

How's the front differential holding up to these drag tests?

Brendan, who the hell appointed you ambassador for the entire world of 928 owners? My point was simple. Chad, you seem to be a fine guy. Your car is unboubtedly awesome. I wish it was mine. I have zero issue with you or anybody else here. It just so happens that drag racing is something I like and have been involved with since the late 60's. The claim of 9 second runs on anything other than a racing slick or a drag radial is absurd and I believe was a mistake. Formula one cars turn 9's at the drag strip. Nothing that I've ever seen will out accelerate a formula 1 car without some serious rubber on it.

I think there are some guys out here that would not doubt for a second if someone posted that their 912 won in the unlimited class at the truck & tractor pull vs a 5 motored blown hemi contraption with 7 foot tall tires. There would be 2 pages of "attaboys" in nothing flat. You do not have to believe in your heart that Porsches can dive deeper than a submarine or fly higher than an SR-71 in order to be a fan or appreciate them for what they are. And whatever it makes me for pointing that out, that's what I am.
