Holee schmolee! My Supra buddies would be impressed with those. Dang.

BTW I am about to get some GT1 hybrid's babies compared to yours I was thinking about Garrett instead but I can see to match that I'm going to need to start doing other things to go with it.

PS Great shot of those headers too. Curvy things.

Is there a pan under that during normal operation Chad? I am concerned about what Bell (graham) says about turbos and cold water from puddles.

Its just that its RIGHT THERE, you know?

Hi CJV -

Page 98 in my book. Half way down the page, on the last few inches of the Ceramic turbine section.

It speak to the actual housing getting too many "dunks" and eventually simply cracking like an overheated Z-o6's Rotor after a hard few laps...

sharkster,

I may be mistaken, but are not you refering to K-24 GT1's that are sold by EVO? I don't believe these are much of a step past the K-24 racing turbo's. Yet I may be wrong. Isn't the "GT1" a name EVO applied to their K-24 turbo? A true hybrid involves machining the housings for impellers but also involves the use of mixing brand parts like Garrett ball bearings and lighter impellers (ceramic or carbon fiber/titanium, etc.) on KKK's. It is not simply honing or opening the intake/exhausts passages.

If you are going to by this GT1 I would obtain a complete understanding of exactly what was done to the turbo's and how much hp they are capable of flowing.

You must first determine what hp you are looking for. If it is in the 500 rwhp range, then stay with the K-24 type turbo's. If you are looking for more power or the next step, then I would consider GT-25 turbo's.

I think a few companies are "coining" them GT1s. Basically hybrid K24s, with supposedly better spool so we'll see. I was thinking about GT25s, at least for the impellor etc.. So what I'm getting is a K16 hot side and K24 coldside w/ K24 compressor. I'm looking for 550 or so WHP with handling to match to borrow a term we've all heard lol (hence PSS9s will do). I am tempted to do more with the GT25s and it's not that much more in terms of cost but since nobody has done this on the Tip before, I'm just not sure how much more abuse it can take. Also running bigger turbos like that at high boost will require more fuel aka bigger injectors aka me in trouble?

Sorry I'm a rookie. I'm still deciding

what do built auto tranny's run you guys? There has to be someone out there over on the other side of the ocean who makes custom auto tranny's for these beast. Or you could go the costly way and get it all custom made. Sounds like you'll be needing it soon Sharkster!

Sharkster, I think that will be too much horsepower for a Tip. Most tuners only do around BHP510 if the TT is not a 6speed. Only Gemabala seems to be doing around BHP600 with what they claim to be a strengthened Tip gearbox so I'm not sure if it can take that abuse

CJV
Why didn't you just go ahead and make it 100mm now since that is what you will eventually need with the new motor? Does running a TB that is too big reduce output?

it is basically a 3.6 L engine with some fine parts that alow to have more dispalcment. the technology of this engine can compared to the Gt1 engien and it looks our cup engines outdated

Probably only the new GT3RS race version (not the street version) will have similar technology

CJV,

Are your oil reservoirs going to be a problem with ground clearance? The look like they stick straight down 4 or 5 inches under your turbos, and far under your exhaust and suspension. Is this just an optical illusion?

CJV,
You should probably black out your license number before posting the picture on the internet.

Looks great!
