Cool

FabSpeed exhaust system installed

I was so used to the loud/noise of just the cats and straight pipes that this new setup sounds quiet by comparison.

lol... no more updates... no more money to spend... it is maintain-mode now for sometime

Anything, $$-wise, that comes my way will be used to finish the RSR 3.0 project... or replace the top on the 964... I promised my wife I will finish all pending projects before any changes to the 996TT... that means finishing the Rail buggy (just have to get all the wiring installed), RSR (rear flairs, wheels, body work and paint...), and tlc to the 964 (cabrio top, clutch pin).

But thank you for the comments.

Jamie, Thanks for the interesting read. I actually thought I was reading about my own car...the similarities in what we've done is amazing. Mine is a 2003 996TT seal gray, alum pack, supple leather. I've done console work, indicators, race pedals, new 911 key, exhaust. Right now, I'm still driving the 100 cell cat with straight through pipes (even have the same tips as you). I too will likely be moving on to add hi flow mufflers some time soon. The noise is just a little too much! Are you still pleased with your muffler choice?

I do miss the great sound (even if it was too loud) of just having the cats and straight pipes... the car felt like the turbo spooled faster (it might have felt that way because I could hear the turbines spin, that shhhhhhhhhh noise). Having said that, I like the looks, build quality, and noise reduction the new exhaust system gave me. It is a true daily driver now with none of the drone that was a pain to the kids and wife. Plus I do not have to look at the neighboors covering their ears as I drive by...

so, Yes, very pleased with my current setup

E-brake came in...

ebrake was ordered from Porsche... not what I was expecting... I thought it would have the Porsche script in the handbrake... Should have ordered the part from Carnewal as I initially intended (and where I got the shifter **** from...)

Lloyds floormats with the Turbo script also arrived...

Great project and pics.
One question I have is what is the trick to getting both Fabspeed cans to sit evenly.

On mine, one hangs lower than the other?

No real trick... I had friend help by holding them in place while I tighten the clamps. You have two points of movement that you can adjust until they sit where you want them.

Loosen yours again and adjust. Fairly easy to do… but again, you need someone to hold them in place or deal with the pain of going back and forth while getting the right alignment… Let us know how it turns out.
