I have started the several day process on testing the exhaust systems. I apologize as I can not remember who the person was that was going us to allow testing on his RUF muffler. If anyone is still game or if you are still around please email me or post.

Of all the ones short, The Ruf muffler bites the dust. Thats the one I was looking forward to!
Stephen,
Will you be testing ALL the exhausts on the market: Cargraphic, Fabspeed, RUF, Europipe, FVD, Gemballa, TechArt, etc.?

No the only vendors to send in are GHL, Fabspeed, 996TTExhaust(Cobra), Europipe and stock. If anyone else wants me to test they need to send the muffler in ASAP. I couldn't get anyone to respond to my calls or emails. I am a bit disturbed Ruf hasn't responded either.

Zamirz,
Thanks for looking into this for me.
In all fairness the deal was the mufflers showed up at the door and I would donate the dyno fees and the time to do this. It takes me a half of day to swap and dyno the muffler so you can imagine I am loosing money every day that I am testing and not working. While I appreciate your offer everyone else has paid their own way into the competition.
I am really not cheap, but everyone else picked shipped theirs. Sorry

Stephen,
Did you try contacting www.9ff-usa.com?
I saw and heard their muffler on a car and it was impressive. In the quiet mode it was quieter than stock and in the straight pipe mode it was very racy and considerably louder than my old Ruf muffler. Price is a little steep.

stephan,
just curious as to why you are embarking on this project, there has been sooo much on the board already with dyno testing and results with regards to the various exhaust systems, CJV was very thorough in his testing.

Stephen,
I presume the results of these tests will be individual dyno test sheets for hp and torque for each exhaust. If you have a way of printing the results in tabular form, I would like to volunteer to collect that individual tabular data and create a composite hp graph and a composite torque graph of all of the exhausts suitable for posting here. Let me know if this will help.

I don't remember ever seeing actual dyno sheets, or a head-to-head comparison on the same vehicle under the same static conditions. I think this is a long overdue comparison, done by an unbiased, honest individual providing valuable to the TT community.

Asgar,
Well to be honest I am not sure how I got roped into this. I suppose because I am not only an owner, but a tuner. So my goal is as everyone else's, to know all the data. As far as I know no testing in printed form with dyno sheets, backpressure testing and db testing has ever been posted or printed in any form. Chad has done some testing, but not back to back to back with all this data. I as well as the rest of the owners am interested to know what the results compared to stock will be.. More importantly I want to know also as a tuner which is best bang for my customers buck. Who better to do the testing in the long run then me? This is what I do....Help. I am reading you are not game in testing the product publicly?
Ken,
I have dyno sheets for each exhaust in graph and printed form. Because I am running on a dyno jet the the over spin of the rollers makes the printed form hard to read. The graphs give the best over all picture in regards to how each muffler responds compared to the other and stock. When this is all finished the charts will then be printed all together overlaid on one another. The db testing will be at several levels, in and out of the car and under load. The back pressure testing is at idle and 6700RPM. While there are 500 different ways to test and 500 different variables I have chosen some specific rpm ranges and a program for my ECU. Not everyone will get everything they want, but the one thing that is guaranteed is this is done EXACTLY the same way from dyno to dyno and literally back to back. Like I said, many different ways to do it, this is just very consistent. Lastly everything will be photographed and the time it takes me to install each muffler will be printed along with the weight of the system. After that I am known for writing every now and then and will write up a full article on all the mufflers and the data then post.
