Boys, boys.....don't get upset with me, I am just telling you what I saw first hand. AND both drivers are friends of mine, we stopped and spoke afterwards before all heading home.

And all the excuses, magazine articles, Theories, speculations, disbeliefs' won't change the facts of this first hand account

My guess is the Z06 owner didn't know how to drive No offence but 500 plus HP vs 480 and 300 pounds less means the Z06 wins with the same driver in a straight line... Just physics

So, if the Z06 can't hook up until 100 mph, I guess it's tested performance figures by major car magazine must be incorrect. The car can't do a less than 3.8 second 0 - 60, or an 8 second 0 -100 mph? Wow...can't imagine what it would do with traction.

What you say you saw was not a true display of the Vette's real performance. I have raced cars with an excess of 1200 rwhp and even they have no trouble hooking up after the initial break. Was this race maybe on an ice rink or did someone oil his tires? LOL.

Maybe your friends were playing with you.

Or maybe the Z could not get traction and the TT could and thats the answer......

Or maybe your fantasy was ruined and you refuse to believe the story???

I have no horse in the fight, two of my friends, I don't own a TT or a Vette,....I have a much better car IMO. So I could care less who is faster.

Just after reading for months all the hype on the Z,.....I found the results interesting. Thought others would too.

I think the Z is a beautiful car, very fast, sounds great, GM did a super job. That said, I don't make the news, I just report it.

Not that it matters, the TT has the PSI 480k with a europipe, so its probably 500hp....

I'm not trying to give you a hard time, but simply stating your discription of the Vette's performance is not accurate. It might have been for that particular race, but something was not right. I have put thousands of miles on the Z06. The Turbo is not a challenge to the Z06 and the Z06 hooks up quite nicely at all speeds. Even ALL the magazine tests have proven that. It would't matter if the TT had 550 hp. The Vette's gearing alone gives it a big advantage.

Well maybe its a lemon??? But they went on for 10 miles. Rolling starts just about anything you wanted under 100mph.......each time the results were the same.

That's fine- I'm not arguing what you saw, but rather, telling you probably why. I've launched a C6Z06 hard 0-150 on cold suboptimal asphalt and relatively cold tires. The car got loose for 1/10 sec, then hooked up and went. The same C6Z put about 2 buslenghts on a slightly modded turbo that is a little quicker than my turbo s.

Guys,
If you read my post you wille see that I was expecting a similar result as you have proclaimed. I figured I would get pulled on. A driver very used to the c6z06 might have ruined me. I don't know. What I do know is that whoever thinks an older z06 will out run a chipped turbo is smoking crack. Unless you pu drag radial on the corvette it will loose. From a roll it should be even worse. I also think the new z06 should outrun my car and jperhaps it will. What the z06 will be surprised about is that he ain't leaving nobody in the dust. If any thing he is pulling away like a box turtle. This was just playing around and I saw no reason for the other driver to be holding back. Its funny how some of you think you know ALL about cars of any make or model. I do know that a bit more power and less weight should outrun me but this particular time it did not. I will probably get schooled by someone soon but I think they will alos gain some respect for the porsche also. I never said the z06 was not great in many ways, what I said was i expected a whooping and it did not happen.. I have enjoyed reading these comments and I like knowing there is always something faster but the field is getting smaller.

I agree that u need at least stage 3 with k24s to beat a vett. i did at the track 3 times...
the guy had some bolt ons.... his best was 12.2 on that day.... i did 11.7 on that day.
when ur there.... and ur racing.... in the real world vs. theoretical online speculations... its a whole different story. its easy to throw out magazine numbers... but another actually doing it...
just my .02 cents
