Default spinning wheels

Oak,
be careful, I think you may have been breathing too much "high horsepower air"
through one of those EVO airboxes...

It would't matter if the TT had 550 hp. The Vette's gearing alone gives it a big advantage.
I agree totally, something not right. i have had first hand knowledge of the c6 zo6 performance. I ran a c6 zo6 from a 50mph roll 3 times(ON A CLOSED COURSE OFCOURSE).The first race he got a 2 car jump on me but I decided to chase feeling I HAD HIM COVERED,but i could only pull 1 car length closer and lost by 1 (ALL THE WAY TO 135 0R SO)HOLY CORVETTE BATMAN!!.The second race i was more prepared and after pulling 1 car on initial boost (love those quick spool turbos)could only put 1/2to 1 car on him and won by about 2 up to 150.the third race was a duplicate.I later found out the car already has an aftermarket cam, headers and exhaust. But if my car has 700 hp(and traps at around 135) I should still beat him by more than 2 cars. And believe me my car is running great.Lets give me the benefit of the doubt and that c6 has an extra 75 horse(DOUBT IT) and around 525 at the wheels.I still should pull away.Am I wrong? So either that was a regular Vette with zo6 wheels and hood or that guy is just learning to drive a stick or following Chevy break in procedures.

p.s. Saw the same z06 race what apeared to be a stock one and beat him by 2.

Joe, for case of discussion/comparison, could you give your
mods list for your "700 horsepower" and do you have documentation
of a 135mph trap speed??
if so you have a very fast car!!

Joe,
nevermind about what mods you have.
I looked it up, you have a "gt 700" and your performance claims
of 700 hp and 135 trap speed are from some web site, not your car.
Even if you pull on a stock C6 ZO6 slightly, you have a fast car,
not a 700 H.P. car. Sorry if this offends.

I have a 05 turbo s cab and semi raced a friend of mine with a 2005 Z06 on Saturday. I only have 500 miles on my turbo S, so when the RPM's reached 4500 I shifted. He burned rubber the entire time and stayed wth me until we both let up around 100 MPH. I also have a 2004 S600 benz that smoked him up to 80 MPH where I let off, he was burning rubber when he hit third gear at 65 MPH, but then rocketed by me when I let up.

I believe with equal drivers the two cars are equal because you can not get all the HP to the ground in the Z06. If you could, he wins. On the other hand, the S600, with 600 ft lbs of torq, stays 3 to 4 car lengths ahead until 80 MPH. My S600 weight over 5800 lbs.

I know for a FACT that the new (C6) Z06 will NEVER be behind an S600 in rain or dry and at any speed. It's funny that you posted such a thing since we regularly compete with these 2 cars and the s600 boat isn't even close. No speculation here....just real world results.

And how in the hell to you "semi" race someone. And just why would the guy driving the Vette be shifting into 3rd at 65 mph? He would be just starting his shift into 2nd at that speed. Your turbo S wouldn't beat the Vette either with equal drivers.

I am not a Vette type of guy, but I drive a Z06 regularly and it is everything that Chevy said it was.

Since my turbo S only has 500 miles, I am still breaking it in and will not rev it past 4200.
You are right, I ment 2nd gear. Nad can only relay what I see.
We are both new drivers of these cars and have not yet got the shifting down.
The S 600 is press the gas and go.
I will put that car up against most, it's a ***** out ride and seats 4.

I see you clarified....sort of. The is no 2006 Z05.

It was either the Coupe, cab or Z06. The coupe and cab only have 400 hp and are not that good of a performer and you should be able to beat them by a little.. The Z06, has a small block 427 505 hp motor and there are few cars that can keep up with it at any speed. I suspect your freind has the coupe or cab if you beat him like you said.

I am not paying attention to what I am typing, in this poorly lited room.

IT WAS A 2006 Z06, COUPE (505 HP). IT HAS ONLY 2000 MILES AND HE PURCHASED IT NEW TWO MONTHS AGO.

The car is BAD ***, but has a problem hooking up. The poor car has not weight over the back tires and it is paying for it with fish tailling and a back end taht wags like a dog.

If he has a problem hooking up, he needs to refine his driving skills or check his tires. It's not the car's problem. I can beat a Turbo S with the Z06 in the rain, so traction is not a problem. He should beat you by a 100 feet or more to 100 mph.
