Default PSI 480 TT SPANKS C6 Z06...

Not really spanked, the cars were very close to even, but the TT can get its power to the ground

This past Sunday we all met up and went for a drive around a local lake. Jonnyg's TT started out behind a new Z06. Both cars from a "feathered" start.......DEAD EVEN........slight pull to the TT.

Rolling from 60mph......DEAD EVEN, slight advantage to the TT

Z can not put the power to the ground. To much HP for the suspension IMO

You're only as good as your traction allows you to be.

The Turbo has +2600 lbs over the rear wheels when accelerating at just 0.6g...thanks to the dynamic weight distribution.

My friend has just picked up a 2003 Turbo (standard) and he is going for the PSI 480, he just loves the torque produced from it, think I convinced him to buy the turbo after he had been in mine, he just loves it!

its quite a experience when u go from a stock tt to a chipped one.
I have gone thru 3 tuning stages... and Im currently doing the internals...
if u think thats fast( and I had a german tunning package in car before(550HP)..
this one Im selling for less then half price( 8 months old) will kick my 550s *** anytime. interested.... pm me for details. if u guys think that beating a zo6 is fast.. try a gsxr 1000 bike.. thats what I have for dinner on chicago highways.

lol, it's just a bit different over here in Edinburgh (Scotland) for us to drive 1/2 miles though town now takes anywhere between 30min-1hr, thats' why I use my car mostly on weekends! so to be honest upping the performance of the car is kinda limited if you know what I mean, probably same for my friend too! I sometimes get away at weekends and travel down to England, this is where I can open it up a bit! I'm outputting in the region of 510 at the moment anyway (stage 2) so i'm more than happy although your Turbo's look tempting

A 480 hp Porsche Turbo will not in a straight line (and probably not on a track) beat a stock C6 Z06. I've driven plenty of Porsche Turbos (and own one), some modded, as well as a C6 Z (and am waiting for one). I love the Porsches- history already shows the greatness of the 996 Turbo at its point in time. However, the Porsche needs about 550-600 hp to win this drag race.

There had to be something wrong with the Z06 driver or the car. I drive a Z06 regularly and it does not have the kind of traction problem described above and would walks away from a 500hp Porsche Turbo.

Well, that seems to be the story.......But I saw with my own eyes something much different. I behind them the whole time as an independent observer. The Vette is fast, and has a ton of power. But it can not get it to the ground. The car is all over the place under full power. It won't hook up till over a 100....by then the TT is gone.

BTW, the Z06 guy sold it. Less than a thousand miles.

The driver is very good. Has lots of seat/track time in Vipers, TT's, Vettes' etc...

Maybe from 90 on it would have been a much different story??

Won't hook up till over 100? Now you're starting to sound like these guys that say they can spin all 4 wheels in their turbo's through second gear. Are you sure it wasn't a dream? The Vette can put down the power even in first gear all the way to 65mph and continues pulling strong into the next gear.

That must be the PSI Experience

In reality my mid 10 second car never does that... and the "only lag" I have isn't the wheels spinning in the tires but REA-TRUE lag that comes with bigger turbos (especially on the hot side)....
