I hope to be closing a deal on a '00 Silver/Gray tt this weekend (after a PPI of course), so I can officially "join" in on the forum. Already picked out a license plate for it "LHD PNZR" so it can match my other toy the RHD PNZR. The RHD PNZR is a 1/1 2000 UK spec RHD BMW 540it (1/345 made) with lightweight style 49 wheels, sunroof delete (standard option) and manual sports seats which appeared on BBC Top Gear during the LP Murci/tractor testing episode (albeit in the background). Color is Glacier Green and was the only RHD e39 touring painted in the color, the wheels also gave the car away, not many people optioned their e39s came with the lightweight style 49 wheels (picture included). It was a very big surprise to me to see it in the background of an old Top Gear episode, the 1/1 color, the wheels and lack of glass sunroof were instant ID on the car. Of course I did include the obligatory interior picture to prove its RHD. Before everyone says "that car is illegal", it is not, the car was an diplomatic vehicle that was federalized in the mid 2000s and has spent most of its life and miles in VA as a rural mail delivery car, but has also spent time in Colorado and South Carolina. The reason for getting the 996 tt right now is the e39 "will be going under the knife", the car will go from a 4.4L 300hp v8 auto to a 4.9L (the call it a 5.0L) 400hp stick wagon. I have sourced a 50k mile e39 m5 drivetrain and want to get it converted before the end of the year (full e39 m5 touring conversion will be covered in BimmerPerformance magazine) and I need a daily driver for the rest of the year, but this all depends on the PPI coming back with good news
