you guys obviously know the two happiest days of owning a boat....day you get it and day you sell.
I am thinking of picking up an older Ski Nautique as family/ski boat.
My family has had a Ski Nautique for almost 40 years. I can say with certainty, excellent choice!
LOVE BlankSlate! THat would be art worthy of taking up space!! Well done!
Thanks! I actually just sold that one last night on a bit of a whim. A friend approached me about building a bike for him and I mentioned I was looking to sell the Virago since it never gets ridden. We worked out a deal and it's going to a new home soon. I did get a clean SR400 out of the deal though, so I guess I"ll be building another bike this winter.
Not fancy, but it is a go-kart dressed as a wagon. It mostly sits in the barn getting covered with dust and bat poop, but every now and then I take it to Watkins Glen for some exercise.
I disagree with all the shade thrown at owning a boat (by people in general - usually who have never owned a boat). Easily one of the best things I've ever done for my family - we've had various boats continuously since 2001 and my family has the greatest memories as a result. A lot of people must agree with me because you can't even find a boat around Texas these days - everyone decided it would be a great time to socially distance in the middle of a lake.
Just like anything - if you take care of it, it takes care of you. Not a cheap activity but a blast nonetheless.

I love OPBs (Other People's Boats.) They are kinda like grandkids; fun to play with but their "owners" retain responsibility for overall long term care.

haha yeah that works too - but I’m a control freak so I’d rather be in charge.
