I am in Seattle and know Adam and his cars well. I’ll be popping over soon to check this out! I’m not in the market but this needs to be seen in person.

Almost a waste of time importing these before the 25 year point. It will never be eligible for road registration.

On an MY00, aren't you basically buying it and stashing it for 2.5 years until it's eligible to be registered? Not the worst idea in the world if you think appreciation over the next couple of years will be higher than the storage costs.

I believe this one has been cleared for track use. I'm not sure if that means it *cannot ever* be registered for road use after it is 25 years old. For sure a conversation with Adam is necessary. But, for the right buyer, this might be a wonderful piece of history.

IIRC you cannot just import a car under some other designation, then retitle it when it becomes legal. It needs to actually be exported/imported again.

Florida recently told 400 owners of skylines to turn their cars in. They were imported before the 25 year exemption kicked in and then registered for the road at some point. Homeland security customs has vin # of every car imported and they share the list with state dmv. It sux if you’re the third US owner and you assumed the car was legal since it’s been registered for years.

Three for sale on eBay right now. Most I’ve seen on the site for years! Add the cars.com car and the one on pelican, that’s a robust US supply at the moment.

In a moment of weakness I am thinking of selling my 6/3. I have 3 gt3's plus a boxster track car and just don't need so many cars. My red 997/3 with rebuilt title seems to be cursed and nobody wants it. I, however, love the car. So the others will go and red rocket stays with me.
2004 996 GT3
Clean title although carfax shows a minor rear end damage reported
Seal Gray
77k miles
lots of mods, mostly suspension
euro buckets, rollbar, harnesses
pretty much all maintenance is done. RMS weeps a little though
yes, I track it. I don't abuse it. I drive it the way it's meant to be driven. This is a driver's car, not a garage queen/collector/investment car.
anyway, tell me i'm crazy. I already know it.
Testing the waters here. I'm thinking $95k in today's crazy market. Otherwise I'll just keep enjoying it.
