Volkswagen TDI… lol. Thanks for ruining the planet for both yours and my grandkids. Put that in a scrapyard please. Lets go back to 996 GT3s.

Im looking at a 996 gt3 with sub 45k miles. I dont know much about this but I know the mezger engine has none of the bore scoring of the other 996 engines. Did the gt3 engine have any ims problems?

Would you buy one of these without being able to drive it if a local ppi looked good?

Its claimed one owner "coolant lines pinned"

Thanks in advance.

Sounds like you need a do a little more research. No IMS issues with these cars. I will PM you about this car, pretty sure I know the car, as I have a PPI set for it this week…

Ok thanks, I just know of the 2 main problems with 996s and wasnt sure if it carried over into the gt3s. sorry for not digging better first.

I have a 997 gts and I think a 996 gt3 is more what I was looking for in the same price range. the intention is for an HPDE eventual time trial car.

thanks for pm.

I will be walking away from the 04’ black car in Tennessee - WP0AC29924S692734 too much of a project car for me, and a bit of unknown history.

I made a low offer after seeing a previous ppi and finding out the car was a bit rough. Paint is rough - swirl marks and scratches, car is wet btwn engine and trans (likely rms), lsd failed, car is pulling to the right, window reg is failing, brakes needs to be done, etc.

I told the dealer I’d like to be around 70k all things considered, and I didn’t get a response. I was hoping to open a dialogue with the seller, especially since the car was for sale for 70k and didn’t sell…and has been sitting for a while.
Looks like the Millennia Motors car finally sold, or is at least unlisted for the moment. I wonder who picked it up. Who did you have do the PPI? Driver's Choice did mine on that car and didn't find the window regulator, brakes or LSD. The rest is in line though.

It's in the title of the model at the top of the Vinanalytic. GT3 is the model not an option.
