reinstall 996 gt3 lip
Hi,
I just picked up a 2004 GT3. The front plastic lip had been taken off and came as a separate piece. Do you guys know of an installation guide?
Thanks
Martin

If original lip u need double sided tape( there is a recessed area for it unlike cup lip). U need those push/ pull two piece plastic rivets( forgot how many- you can get from dealer). Start with middle of lip then go outward to the end. Mike

I break plastic clips every-single-time i touch anything with the front lip. gets pretty annoying!
I just use the plastic screw in type that expands, can get them from any autoparts store. 6mm is what you want from memory.

There is the option for screw type rivets or push type. If you call sunset porsche they can get you either. Typically the push pin style is for the cups for quick alterations in the pits w/o a screwdriver (I think). I used the push pin style.
Use the red backed double sided 3m sticky tape, Home Depot has it in the paint section.

Here is some reading:

I ultimately ended up putting in the well nuts/double sided tape after losing a couple of splitters held by push pins/double sided tape in non-off situations (tho I do tend to use the gators/curbing a bit ;-).
Whichever way you reattach, the best advise I got here, seconded by Spencer ***, is to 'tape closed' the splitter/bumper gap. Not the prettiest solution, but keeping air and clag from opening that gap is essential to keeping the splitter in place...

I think its 10 rivets...I bought 20 just in case. They are less than a dollar at the dealer but are special order parts so call ahead
