Put about 60 miles on the car today and got it smogged. This thing is a torque monster. Got on it around 3-5k rpm and it PULLS!! The Cup exhaust sounds so good too - the videos just don't do it any justice.

I apologize because, honestly, the videos suck.

At the smog shop.

Are these some clean results or what?

I can't WAIT to hit 500 miles, change the oil, and do some dyno pulls.

I don't know if I could sleep before finishing the break-in mileage.

I don't think I could drive it that long in one stint without being overwhelmed with temptation!

on such an auspicious vehicle your stop light's are a let down, lethargic incandescent bulbs, fit sharp response LED's that match the sharp response vehicle.

After following this thread, I would expect Serge to spend time and effort on performance. if LED weighs in less it will make the list at some point in time.

Thanks for all the positive feedback guys. I'm having a lot of fun with the car during the break-in stage, despite not yet being able to tap into the true power above 6k. The character of the car is transformed. It sounds like a big engine. The mid-range torque is unbelievable.

While having my ski season opener at Kirkwood this Sunday, Ron takes my car to Eurosunday. My BMW enthusiast friend actually pointed me to the link on the e90post forum. Small world!

The car is just sinister...sporting the new plate:

Awesome; just awesome. I really like the center exit setup on these cars as well.

I gotta say it's pretty awesome with respect to what can be done to the motor/tranny and everything else. L

In a push for additional weight savings, the heavy steel hood is replaced with a carbon piece. It's about a 17 lb weight savings.

The hood was purchased from GMG and the fit/finish is excellent. I was initially concerned about the look of raw carbon, but it is actually very subtle.

And just some more shots of the car...

With nearly 500 miles on the engine, we are getting close to the end of the break-in stage. First oil change tomorrow.

The CF hood blends in with the black car really well.. Can hardly tell..

Would be quite Fast 'n Furious on my white car, though..
