Looks good! I teared up a bit when we first fired my 3.8 at Flat 6!

Serge,

Are you going to use the stock MAF or the 997 MAF? I am sure your custom tune will take care of any delta in air flow. Just curious.

Unfortunately, I don't have any tools handy to get accurate measurements of the wall thickness...I'll try to get a micrometer when I have time and get thicknesses around the perimeter behind the flange.

In addition to this, the rubber boot between the MAF housing and throttle body will be modified. There is a landing molded into the rubber for the end of the throttle body to seat. The landing will be trimmed a couple mm to allow a smooth transition to the throttle body. In addition, we're going to attempt to retrofit the 997 MAF housing, as the 996 housing will be the choke point (the diameter is smaller than 72mm). Maybe I'm splitting hairs, but these are inexpensive modifications...

The MAF is the same for almost all Porsches. 986 606 125 01 (Boxster) part number. I'm using the MAF housing off a 997 GT3 though. Its a few mm larger in diameter than the 996.

The car is a new clutch hose away from driving... I was going to install it today but the dealer sent us a 996 carrera hose instead of a GT3. The part numbers are identical except for the last 2 digits 90 vs 09!!

Running well with the stock ECU programming, no codes. The sound is intoxicating. Tomorrow we break it in some more and take it in for smog.

Video forthcoming. Hopefully we don't run into any police
