You'll get less seat time with the GT3 in your scenario, but you'll probably have the most fun!

That's the whole point of the thread. Would you rather have more fun less frequently or less fun more frequently???

+1 Holger! The only other argument would be for entering a Spec Boxster class for racing... That could be fun!

If it was track a street GT3 once or twice OR a C2 with susp. mods 10 times... I am pretty sure everyone would go C2...

it is the ratio of 10:15 that will keep the results GT3... I think.

I agree with mooty -- stretch for supermodels!

Didn't we have a maintenance thread recently? I think one person said that considering that things kept breaking on his C2, the GT3 was cheaper to track. My point is that a couple of seasons at only 10 weekends/year should make up the initial price difference and then running costs should be about the same so you can track the 3 as much as you'd like.

Forget the GT3. It's not suitable for a race track.

Get a suspension for the C2 and keep running it....I say that because you already have the X51 c2 with a brand new transmission. Of course I am a C2 guy, so I can't speak of the GT3 greatness. The GT3 thought is tempting, but you are correct in asking what the extra $$ it will cost you could buy.

Tried the C2 route. Spent a lot of money then got the GT3. Before you get a C2 drive a GT3. Make sure you take an on ramp to a highway and shift at 7,500- 8,200 RPM. 80MPH in second gear changed my mind. I love the GT3

If you really can't afford to track the GT3 as often as you like, I'd get something like an air-cooled 911 that has a good track setup and track it as often as you can. They are reliable and cheap to keep in tires and brakes compared to a GT3 and will keep you plenty entertained.

First off..

If you ask this same question in different forums...996, boxster and GT3 areas you will of course get completely different answers.

Also, I think you should slant the questions a little bit since 10x with a gt3 is a lot of weekends for some people and not that much different that 15x with a C2. Another thing would be to say a C2 with a track suspension as opposed to a "few" suspension mods makes more sense.

Honestly I think that using your current weighting the Spec Boxster with the most track time is the optimum winner.. More track time and the track time is in competition vs both the GT3 and C2.

Just my 2cents.
