Hey there,
I did not have a pyro and it was COLD and rainy. I dont know how GT3 ran 31/30 (no offence it just diddn't work for me. Cold I can see. I started with 32/34
Very hard to get tires up to temp so to compensate I increased pressure (Thank you Chemistry for once). 42 Hot ( R) is taken when I came off track. About 8 lb increase
The ra-1 users can chime in here, but in my experience with them on my M3 they liked around 40 hot. They had sloppier sidewalls though.
I'll try calling Ntto and some friends who race on them. (Pete you know who I'm talking about) and see what they say.
I'll report back after the weekend but I'm not sure how helpful it will be as the track is almost entirely right hand turns. I run staggered pressures. L/R

i ran the fastest times at 32/30. i just experimented with pressures to what gave me the best grip and lap times. also gt3bob ran similar pressures when he had his gt3 with nitto's. this was at spring mountain motorsports ranch. not really a high speed track, more of a technical teaching track.

Hey Dell, I think that we will be bringing a few sets down to VIR for my boys to run on their 951 & 993. They look good to me, and hopefully will be faster than the RA1s.

Sounds good Larry, we'll have to make sure and compare notes over the weekend to fine tune the pressures. I'll have one event on them before the Zone2 DE so I should have some good data collected by then.

Chris, the RA-1's rubbed because they are 35 series tires. The NT01 is a 30 series tire as it should be in the rear of the GT3. I posted all the spec sizes in another thread over in the Racing and DE forum ( https://rennlist.com/forums/showthre...7&page=3&pp=15 ) see post 37. The RA-1 in the 35 series is a FULL INCH taller in inflated diameter hence the rubbing.
ps. did you forget about that thread? You were active in it.

Thanks, Dell. It's been busy at work for a while now. The rubbing I got with the RA-1 315s was on the side of the sidewall. I will be eager to hear how you fair at your first event. I'm thinking of the spot just pat the bridge on the Shenadoah Circuit at Summit Point where I get all four wheels in the air. I would not want to hear rubbing as the car comes down there.

Just an update on the tire pressures. I just talked to a tech at Nitto Tire and he stated that the NT01 will perform best at an optimal temp of 40 hot. I am going to shoot for 38-39 in these tires. I still don't feel 40 is the target number but I could be very mistaken. Only way to find out is to run them and test the temps after each session as well as feedback at different pressures. But one thing is for sure, 30 hot is way too low. Not sure how you (GT3-4ME) ran your fastest times at 30 but then again, every car is different and you have data from you and another at that pressure.
GT3-4ME......did both you and Bob run the NT01? What sizes did you run?

I used 36 hot all around with good results. Way too much roll over with 30-31.
Weird though I got quite rubbing on my front Right. Even with rolling the fenders. Also on 3/4 lock the tire will rub the inside liner. We jacked up the ride height a few mm and that seemed to solve it.
I'm using shims to get 2.6 camber up front. Think this increased castor to the point that I'm rubbing the lining or th track was increased hence the rubbing on the sidewall.
Any thoughts?

Not sure about the rubbing since I do not have first hand knowledge and wont till next month. I am taking my car into the shop in the coming week or two to get the alignment set, etc. more for these tires and the track.
I will definitely comment when I get everything taken care of and have a couple track days to get good data. Just a newb here on the R-Comps

dell bob and i used the same sizes 245 front and 305 rear. i think you guys are right about tire pressures. i ran 32 front and 34 rear this weekend and had good results. i may try higher pressures to see how it works. the good thing is i may get better lap times out of this.
