Default Father/son 1/4 mile track fun

Had a blast running the 1/4 mile on Thursday Ran back to back to back with my son. My best time was 14.42 and his was 14.51. The track was a private event. So we never had more than 2 cars ahead of us. We had to stop after 9 times. Not bad for a 99 with 98,000 miles. The car held up just like it was meant too.
Glad I didn't break it. Had a great father/son time for fathers day.

Terrific way to spend time with your son. Once my son gets a bit older, we'll be doing something similar.

Love the drag strip, but 14's? I thought these would be quicker in the 1/4.

Dad, you should have missed a gear for him. Those times are nice for the Porsche in a straight line. Now just head to the closest road track and let her eat some curves.

I was looking up quarter times last night just for reference. I think these times he posted are pretty respectable for novice racers, on stock tires. There was better times posted around google, but most of those drivers were gear bangers big launches in higher rpms on slick tires

I keep reading the specs of 13.9 at 101mph Maybe if I was 80lbs with 1 gallon of fuel, Maybe a better time. A good starting point for what needs to be worked on.

Right. Lol. Yes these cars are fun. Especially around a road course or auto cross. I believe you will have a blast either ways you have it, drag tracks or road course Or parking lots. Enjoy, keep us posted. Remember your maintenance work, get your son into turning those wrenches also.
