Default Ben's plenum

Hello guys, need some help.
Got this pic today from my buddy Ben.

He finally found the time to print a plenum for my car (the white one on the left side of the picture). Thanks Ben.
The idea is to be able to fit an 82mm TB, just like the IPD plenum setup.
Sure, it doesn’t have all the bells and whistles as the IPD, and it’s not made out of aluminum, but it should give a quicker acceleration and more torque on the low RPM, and not going to cost over 1K.
He made few plenums for the Boxster (plenum on the right), and although It added only 3hp and 3Ft-lb On the dyno, the difference is noticeable in drivability, and expected to be higher on the 3.6L engine (The Boxster was 2.7L engeine and the plenum accepts the 74mm TB).
If you like to read more about it:

I drove Ben’s car, and I could definitely feel the differences between the stock setup to the upgrade.
Anyways, to my question.
Can anyone please direct me to a source where I can find the needed silicon elbow, that will fit the larger TB on one side, and the air box on the other?

thanks in advance.

Meir.

What does the inside look like? Could be an affordable alternative to the IPD plenum.

The inside looks like the OEM plenum. it was very important for Ben to respect the IPD’s design, which is patented, even though there are ways around it.
So it is built like the OEM plenum inside and out, but can accept the 82mm TB.

There is a screenshot of the dyno run on page 17(post 345) in the link I posted, from one of the guys that installed the plenum on a 2.7 engine with the 74mm TB.
I didn't get main yet, as it needs to be painted on the outside, and polished on the inside. I didn't plan to dyno the car, but i might consider doing it. It shouldent be to difficult to do consecutive runs, as the swap is not too complicated.

I cannot speak in his name, but I'm sure that if some people will be interested he will consider that.

BTW, I'm still looking for that elbow.

I'll wait for your dyno graph.

Is the printed material suitable for an automotive environment?

Ben -the producer(Ben006) of this part is a well known guy on 986 Forum. He produced Ball bearing Shifter for Members. He proved himself to be a 100% decent guy imho..He is an ASE certified Auto Tech and works for a Porsche dealer afaik. NAYYY

i'll be sure to post the dyno graph once i'll have the mod done.
for now you can look at the boxster graph.

as for the material properties, here is what Ben posted on the 986 forum:

"It is made of nylon plastic, which is resistant to oil, fuel and most solvent, and also quite strong (I can stand on it). It is not as stiff as the materiel used for the original parts, why is glass fiber reinforced nylon, hence the need for the stiffening ribs.
It is not molded, but made by Selective Laser Sintering, which is a 3D printing process that creates a part really homogenous inside, but with a rough surface. Far superior compared to the Fused Deposit Modelling used by all the "cheap" 3D printers."

Thanks Schnell.
I’m familiar with these websites, but I was kind hoping that someone done a similar mod, and can help me save some time and money by eliminating the trial and error process.
Thanks anyway. Your help is much appreciated.
I also think I’ll call Ben, and ask him to chime in, so you guys can get some info first hand.
