BTW, Sorry if this is over stepping but would I be stupid to pay $35K US for a 2003 Silver / Black C4S with only 23K miles (records, never seen rain, excellent condition, Bose, no heated seat though) ??? He's down from $42K.

Very low miles and great shape but I'd need to do the IMS. Just not sure about the price.
I don't think $35k is too far off, but I'll pay a premium for a lower mileage car, while others choose to do the opposite. However, looking at $35k range, I might hold off and save a little bit more play money and opt for a 997.

Really depends what you want out of a car. Low miles was one of my main criteria, next to color combo/aero/6MT.

Also, people will say lower mileage cars haven't been ran, gaskets dry rot from sitting etc., so you can either risk it like myself and do your own inspection, or pay for PPI and have it checked more thoroughly. I've replaced IMS, AOS, clutch, and a couple other bits, none of which needed to be, but that was an additional cost I would immediately incur.

Or you can do like 808Bill said and look at Slakkers with the 3.8FSI. Whole lot of car for a great price.

That car comes with a/c, he just had it out is all. The engine in it is built to withstand track. Likely a 4.5s car to 60mph, substantially more go than a regular Carrera. Plus no worries about scored bores & IMS failure. Likely a 100k plus without breaking a breaking a sweat in that motor.

^^ Not a bad price at all I paid 24k for my stripper 99 Arena Red car with 56k on it 8 months ago. Its super clean and came with hollow spoke wheels. I felt like I paid absolute top dollar. Here is a pic after some coilovers and wheels I added.

I bought in the 35 range, car was immaculate, low miles, and had rare factory Aero and an uncommon color combo (Guards Red over Natural Brown)...... I am in love with the car and have no price regrets
