Pete, You know I have no love for Martin, but please just give it a rest if Martin himself isn't causing trouble or obfuscating things.

Yes DrMEMS has a right to know the answer and given what Martin has said in this thread I have no objection to him asking for a public answer. There is no need for anyone else to get involved. It was quite obvious that Martin was not answering without you pointing it out.

If he makes a post that is wrong/misleading/generally not helpful, by all means feel free to jump on him about it. Just piling on and instigating like you have been doing, however, makes you look similar to a chief complaint we have about him (his petty attacks on Jake).

Point taken and accepted. This whole story just stinks for the OP because he is the one who got hurt.

Hurt twice technically... Don't forget the reason why he had to get a new motor in the first place.

I get parts from Europe, there are many parts in stock in warehouses from different years and different models.

I'd worry about your own old lifters in your "super" rebuild.

We should "crowd fund" this repair by Jake and Flat Six Innovations. And then have Jake post & document all of Marty's screw-ups. Put me down for $100. Where do I mail the check?

Shouldn't it be part of your quality control process to verify that the parts you are using have not been superseded?

Seems to me that if Porsche felt the need to EOL a part and replace it with a different one that they had a good reason. If that is the case then using the old version seems like a bad idea.

The real question that subscribed fans want to know is if DrMEMS took Jake up on his offer to look at the car and use it in his class(totally classy move by Jake). If so, I can't wait to see the outcome. If not, I got no sympathy.

We have now acquired a car for the class. This is NOT DrMem's car.
