Edit:

Rereading it I'm guessing the "mid week" means this week.
The printer finished them this morning. They will ship tomorrow!

I ordered a completely different book from Amazon. It hasn't arrived yet. I want to call Jake up to complain about it, but his phone number is not listed on his website. What gives?

$17.95 Int'l shipping is not bad to ship it to Canada.
With our currency being so poor these days (.76/1.31) by the time it gets here, it'll be around $95 Cdn.

Thanks Jake for keeping the discount for this week as I had not been on Rennlist for a while.
Ah! well, this book should be really good to have.
Cheers!

It made sense to extend the discount for RL members.

I am very happy to release the only directive for fastener (torque) specs for the entire 996! Thats right, not just the engine, we have compiled all the torques for the entire vehicle into one book!

This is a 150 page guide that covers the entire vehicle, engine, manual, and tiptronic transaxle, suspension, axles, steering, clutch, wheels, brakes, body, you name it! Models that are covered are all Carrera and Turbo models, and some specific GT3 specs as well, though not the entire GT3 is covered.

The specs for all IMS our IMS related products are also found in this book.

No more looking through workshop manuals for torques that may have been superseded for a decade, no more wondering what each fastener's length or diameter is; its all laid out in order of sub- assembly, through illustrated parts breakdowns, and can be found within seconds! Anyone who has ever looked for torque values for these cars, and engines knows what a challenge this can be, as these are not easy to find at all.

For more details see this page on the The Knowledge Gruppe page, and sign up for the December M96 102 Engine Rebuild School while you are there! The Knowledge Gruppe will be the source for all our resource materials, and classes moving forward.

Order your 996 Fastener Specification Guide here, use promo code "torque10" to receive your 10% Rennlist Discount, good through October 20. This is a pre- order, however the books are printing now, and will ship ASAP, on, or before 10/20
http://www.theknowledgegruppe.com/in...96-automobile/

Here's a sample of the illustrated parts breakdowns, and torque tables. Books measure 5X7" and fit perfectly into any tool box, or glove box!

if there isn't a 996 Carrera s why is it mentioned?

The 2005 Launch Edition Carrera S may technically be a 997, but the cars have many 996 characteristics. Though only 337 were made, they are more fitted to the 996 category than the 997. I have one here now that has a hybrid 996/997 interior.

In future runs that designation will be removed from the cover, just to make things kosher.

Mine came in the mail today. Not sure why, but it's smaller than I expected.

Quality book though an extended table of contents or an index would be nice so you can jump straight the the relevant sub assembly. Very clear diagrams and tables though. Even for the semi-DIYer this will come in handy.

Thanks Jake.

The size of the book is clearly posted in the description, for those wondering it is roughly 5x7".

The book was made specifically to be used as a tool, so it needs to fit in a tool box, or a glove box.

It wasn't a criticism or a complaint, just an observation

Like I said I don't know why I expected it to be bigger and I do agree it's a good size.
