Lug bolts, yes.. Gas cap, well, if it had a special wrench to fit it, i'm sure we could determine a torque spec.

With 150 pages of info, you'll be hard pressed to find a critical fastener thats not covered.

In that case, refer to one of my many torque tables. Here you select bolt length, diameter, and any coatings it may have, and a general torque value is specified based upon those characteristics.

You gotta bring it to Jake's class to get it signed. While you're at it have him put a couple fingerprints on it with used JG-DT40. That should definitely up the collectability factor down the road.

Jake - how much for signed personalized copies for RL members?

I'd pay extra for that!

My signature is so bad that you'd never know what it said anyway... I haven't signed any of these... Thats one reason why I was an Editor of the book, not an Author.

Very pleased to see these selling so well. Once a few guys get them, and see how comprehensive they are, they will sell even better.

A lot like developing components, I saw a need for this book as a tool for technicians. In my classes we often fight to find torque values during assembly. Thats a thing of the past now, and we don't have to use funky nomenclatures from the factory to specify the torques, since its all listed in illustrations.

Ordered!!! As a DIY'er, I am excited to have these values all in one place. While most things can be found online, it's nice to have the convenience of having this information ready to go when you are. I wish I had something like this while doing the coolant pipes in my 955CT.

Good answer.

I see the book also lists torque specs for the elusive 996S models.

I got a notice early last week that said they were a little delayed and should ship towards the end of the week. Haven't seen the book or any other notice yet. I'm chalking it up to first run issues and wasn't going to bug them until next week.

Edit:

Rereading it I'm guessing the "mid week" means this week.
