sounds.....too easy? lol

there is a really slight hesitation while slowly rolling on the throttle and that only happens once in a while. other wise it is idling consistently at 750 rpm. raises a hundred or so with AC on....

That's interesting as I think normally it should idle at around 700rpm.

Excellent job. I commend your courage and abilities!

This initiative, coupled to the great success of my enthusiast level classes has proven that the DIY world of building these engines demands some emphasis from a parts and support perspective.

You will all appreciate what the future holds.

Yes, lots of people asking for sounds clips...here and my local crew.

They are coming

Installed new MAF based on Jakes suggestion. Cleared codes and went out for a 20 minute drive on the hwy and back. Didnt notice any hestitation yet, so I am hoping the new MAF fixed my problem.

I paid closer attention to the torque values this time. It hovers around 680- and 730 on torque, the needle doesnt look like it moves on the dash though....

I also logged some fuel trims but have no clue what I should be seeing or if I logged the right ones. I just slected a bunch of Short and Long term fuel trm values that was available in the list.

What would you log? What values should I be seeing on a healthy setup?

I would log:
- rpm: should around 680-700 rpm
- STFT: will swing a few % positive or negative at idle
- LTFT: usually it's a few % positive
- MAF: should read ~ 4-5g/s on a 3.6 at idle (engine fully warmed). Not sure what it will read on a 4.0L. My guess is it's a little over 4g/s
- Precat O2 sensor voltage (O2 voltage bank 1 sensor 1 and bank 2 sensor 1): swings between 0.3 to 0.7v about every once a second on at idle.
- Postcat O2 sensor voltage (O2 voltage bank 1 sensor 2 and bank 2 sensor 2): more or less stays at ~0.7v at idle (engine fully warmed up)

^thanks. I'll do some logging next time I drive.

took jake's suggestion and changed out the MAF for a new one. put on about 60km last night. lots of that on the hwy on cruise control to try and reproduce the misfire. nothing. fingers crossed.

oh and while staring at her in the garage last night I see this thing hanging from my rear view. there's a light in it. ....what is it?
