Extremely fishy - the VIN decodes as a 2000 C4 and all GT3's are 3.6 liters, not 3.4 as listed. The pictures do show a GT3 engine.

video walk through seems like it was bought and used solely as a track car. that must be a blast - wish I could do that!

Yeah... Imma call BS on this car being a European import. Most likely a track rat 996.1 w/ aerokit.
The few 996.1 GT3's I've read about being imported have sold for a boatload more than these guys are asking.
These guys are only an hour away from me, and I'll be in OKC later this week. I'll stop by and check it out.
I'll drive my '99 996.1 w/ aerokit and see what thet have to say when they're side-by-side.
Or maybe my '99 Boxster "GT".
It takes more than a body kit and some decals to make a GT3.

I know someone that is an original owner of a guards red 996.1 GT3 Clubsport in guards red. The car is in Mexico city. I've tried to buy it from him on several occasions and was thinking of importing it to the US but he doesn't want to sell it. They are indeed very rare cars. Car is at least worth 50k if not more.

I'm no expert, but seems like a real 996.1 GT3.

Pricing may seem like a steal on the surface, but not that out of line with recent BaT auction (which had over $60k in work done prior to the sale for $97k):

Wish I had the funds and space to have a track only car like this. Hope someone here does and takes us along for the experience!

That was my first thought - but it does have a legit GT3 engine.

This is stupid question and I plan on emailing the shop that did the work but on the invoice it says Factory Porsche Engine, would you think this is a new engine? Or used engine?
Check the engine serial number. It should have an AT in it.

I think you guys are overestimating how much track cars go for. 996.1 GT3 is rare in North America indeed, but that particular car is not a clean street example, it is a track car that may be problematic to register here. 996.2 cup cars do not change hands for much more than that, and are significantly better track cars.

As for the authenticity of the car, considering the VIN #, no sunroof, correct brakes, original GT3 decklid (aerokit lid would have the fan on the right side), not to mention the correct lower revving engine of the MK1 car, I think it's pretty safe to assume it's legitimate.
