How do the turbos hold up higher mileage-wise compared to the non-turbos?

Nice! I'd take a chance on that. Clutches are easy.

I would say if a PPI checks out this is a good price.

That actually sounds like an amazing deal (assuming your ppi and history check shows a clean bill of health). I usually only see Tiptronic turbos in this price range, and this is the more desirable (to me) manual.

Yuck! It's in poor shape. The original front Turbo bumper has been replaced with a base Carrera front bumper, the seats are crap, the headlight are oxidized badly, No telling what mystery is behind the bumper swap. Probably an accident that didn't make it to Carfax. Plus, it's an automatic with 127,000 miles on it. I'd move on unless someone likes an expensive project.

I agree, that's a horrifying project. The wood trim is the icing on the cake.

The money needed to get it back to snuff would probably be more than just buying a well sorted tip turbo.

Horrifying? That's a remarkably cheap/easy project car if everything else checks out. It's a hard-loaded Turbo for less than $28k asking. While the front bumper and the seats need sorting, they don't get any cheaper...that is, any other 996TT for this money will need more work than that.

Maybe if it was listed for $20k then could think about it. Why get a basketcase car like that when for a few grand more there are cars like this: https://www.cars.com/vehicledetail/d...6369/overview/
