From the ad:

"2002 Porsche 911 Carrera Targa 59,500 miles.

Beautiful and rare combination Lapis Blue Metallic exterior/Graphite Gray leather interior in excellent condition. The Targa model features a “hatchback” style rear window and power sliding glass top with sun shade. The 3.6L engine, 6 speed gearbox and legendary Porsche suspension makes this car a joy to drive.
The car is equipped with all leather interior, Bose Premium sound, heated power seats and PSM along with the standard compliment of features.

I purchased the car direct from a Porsche Dealer that performed a full inspection and replaced the IMS Bearing. It has a Clean title and Carfax history."
Not sure the IMS has been done, it now says this on the listing: "I purchased the car direct from a Porsche Dealer that performed a full inspection and replaced the rear main and intermediate shaft seals. It has a Clean title and Carfax history"

Yeah, I thought they replaced like for like. The ad seems a little confusing, he replaced the IMS in the replacement motor with the double row LN bearing? I thought by 2002 Porsche would be using the single row, or the larger not replaceable one.

Its unfortunate because otherwise its a nice car with some desirable options (PSM, three spoked wheel, etc.)

Just get the engine S/N and that will verify what it has in it.

OK what do you guys and gals make of his one?? Love that it's an early 99 and has some of the good options but at one point seller thought he might of needed a new motor from looking at his past posts.

$17K would be fair. Not a fan of the interior color myself. You really need to see and drive these cars to know for sure. PPI and Service history going as far back as you can get. How many owners...

I'll admit neither am I, I tend to like darker colored interiors or maybe an odd ball color. But the wife likes these interiors and lite gray only because she doesn't have to keep them clean. Thanks for you advise on this one, it's fun to learn new things.

I would prefer buying from a rennlister as they are in the know, have better knowledge of these cars and are enthusiast. Ultimately they know how to take better care of these cars and that's who you want to buy from.

True, with exception of the one guy that made his own IMSB and never told the buyer...It did not end well.

The red car above is worth a close look if it meets your requirements for sure.

There will always be exceptions in this world. Made his own IMSB?? Wow that's the first!

Good thread here:

https://www.renntech.org/topic/5353-...e-sn-decoding/

Your "665" seems to indicate an '05 engine, and the "AT" means it is a factory rebuild. And the "03" means 3.6.

Unless I am totally wrong...
