This one is in my town. It's a beauty and the guy had the Solution installed. I'm not sure he'll get $33K for a C4S with that many miles, but it's really nice to see in person. The white ones are rare.

Nice looking car ... could be a tough sell with a Tip, but who knows?
I agree with you. It's a stretch to grab that when auction prices for low miles C4S are around $25,000. I think he's trying to recoup the money he spent for Flat 6 Innovations to install the IMS solution. But as the ol' adage goes... It's not what you put in it, but what you can get out of it that matters.
Still, I've seen this car travel to Athens GA many times and such a beautiful thing in white....but especially those head lights... wow... those iconic headlights... who could miss them? ha!
I asked for the story and records about the salvage title. He said all that's available is what you can find through CarFax/AutoCheck. Not off to a good start.
I noticed the salvage title immediately... I offered him $11k, he said he's not willing to take less than $16k. I told him good luck . He's a real estate agent, probably thinks he can sell water to a fish.
After I noticed the steering wheel I'm not sure I'm comfortable even at $11k. It speaks to the level of maintenance (or lack thereof). If it ever goes anywhere, I'm half expecting this to be the sort of seller who doesn't understand why I'd need a PPI.
I've got to share this dialogue, I'm cracking up:

Yes I have all of the original wheels, with tires, which actually come with it.
I did almost 10,000 miles in last year on this car.
I have to at least take 16,000 to break even.

My offer would be in the $11k range, although I have no interest in the current wheels (so you could sell those separately). If you find yourself willing to come down into that price range, let me know.

Edmunds puts trade in, assuming the car is well optioned, at $9000, private sale at $10500, and that’s before you factor in a salvage title. KBB does a bit better, putting you at $11500 for trade in and $12500 for private sale… but again that’s before you factor in a salvage title… most dealers won’t even take a salvage title as trade in, at any price.
Who knows, maybe you have a silver tongue and could get $11k from a trade in. Frankly, I made the offer before I saw the horrendous condition of the steering wheel… I’m not even sure I’d be willing to move forward at $11k.
Ad states that it has some scratches, but at this price it might be worth a look.
I like the idea of having a hard top for a convertible but for some reason the looks of this hard top just doesn't quite look right to me. It's significantly different from a coupe.

related question - if I have a C4 cab will a hard top like this go right on top or do I actually have to permanently remove the soft top in order to utilize a hard top?

Yes, it is quite different. Clearly one of those you-like-it-or-you-don't kind of deals. Makes the cab into a different -- much quieter -- car. With the hard top on, I can actually make and receive phone calls, not that I ever want to.

Your soft top is there the whole time, just lowered to get it out of the way.
You lower the soft top; align the tabs on the front of the hardtop to the corresponding points above the windshield; align the posts on the hard top to the receivers above and outboard of the rear seats; tighten the posts to the locking position; and close the front latch near the dome light. With a hoist or a helper, it takes less time to do it than it does to describe the process.
The hard top only weighs about 75 pounds, but is ungainly to handle by yourself. There are some differences in hardware, but your car probably has the necessary receivers if it is a 996.1, or a 996.2 ordered without the "hard top delete" option. There's much more information on hard tops available in other threads.

Unfortunately I do not own a 911 cab to answer your question but maybe an expert on this subject can chime in and enlighten us.
