Plus, since the Becker stereos NEVER make a noise it's easier to hear when the IMS is about to crap out or when the chains are about to break "Cuda style". With a 986 you can get all that for about a third of the price. As a bonus you get a spare trunk (in case you can't get into the frunk) and you'll be able to pick up lots of side work as you'll be mistaken for a hairdresser daily.
It's good to know I'm loved around these parts. The boxster seems to be going for well less than $10,000 in the southeast and so it's definitely on the radar. However, it really hard to not get a 996. Those cars are really special and the fact that I can fit a couple of midgets in the back, is a win win. You just never know when you may have to taxi them to the next midget wrestling competition.

Anyway, I'll keep me eyes open. Right now, my budget is $7,000 and climbing. Unfortunately, the better 996s are going for around $23K. Guess, I got a ways to go.
Heads up on this one- The guy WILL NOT allow a PPI. My buddy drove it this weekend for me and there were some red flags I questioned him about, he had bs answers. Red flags on the car and red flags on the owner are reason enough to pass in my opinion. There are plenty of other good deals out there so don't settle on this one!

Yup! On that note, I'm looking for a clean manual C4/C4S in the $20K range. There was a beautiful, white C4 for $21K with 50K or so miles in CA owned by a knowledgeable enthusiast that I missed by a day. I know they are out there!

I'm sure he will. Such a shame to see a tramp of a car. Who in the world lets seats in a Porsche get so ripped up? Tell you a lot of about the mechanicals. This would be a money pit from the start.
I wouldn't worry about it to much since it was "functional" and the air bags didn't deploy. One indicator is the owner quickly sells it, but in the this case, the original owner kept it almost two more years. The only negative is it's a tippy. Not a bad thing, but the manual is supreme. I would consider a tip if my wife really wanted to drive it, but in my case, she'd rather drive the SUV and ride in the Porsche.
In this case, this care would be my daily driver; the car is a Tiptronic S with sport chrono, my understanding is its better than the regular tip. Still not as good as a manual, but a good solution for everyday use!
Vincent, not sure if you're asking about the Orlando C4S...if so, the price hasn't changed in a month. He just included a lot more detail about IMS status and an accident that shows up on the car's history.

also says, "No IMS bearing noise or issues as this year came with 2 row bearings which are more durable." Sure....I have a bridge available for sale as well. He clearly knows a lot about these cars

One option my car didn't have that I lusted for. Good deal too.
