That's come up a few times now (3rd?). If it's not selling for 33k, obviously adding 15k to the price is the right idea.

Hadn't caught it before, but apparently it has a salvage title to boot!

Maybe I should call for a test drive and see if I can weedle out who the salesman's drug dealer is, cause he's obviously delivering some pre-mo ****

Add me to the list of looking. Has to be m6 coupe and any colors except black or yellow. Purchase will be between April 17 and Dec 31. Willing to fly and drive for great deals. Need something else to go with my ZR-1. Daily is a jeep. Will be selling my 78 Vette. Have a roached out 944 turbo I may sell or restore. 2 fun cars or three? Storage space is the issue and time to maintain. I travel too much for work.

In other news, I was able to negotiate the cost of someone taking a dump on my chest to just $18 today. Love Craigslist.

Strange, I spoke with these guys over the winter on another 911 Cab they were selling, they were reasonably priced, if a touch high....this one appears to be way off base....that's some good crack cocaine they're smoking

Nice 99 996 C4 with a Flat6 Innovations sticker in door jamb. FSI did the IMS bearing replacement. OK, always amazes me that I have never seen such a sticker on a car for sale. Seems to me this would be a great pic to show buyers. This car will not last long:

Hey, check out this car I found on Cars.com: https://www.cars.com/vehicledetail/d...aff=share_text

This is because so few people sell vehicles after our work is completed. That job was done a good while ago, off the top of my head I'd say 2009 based on the serial number on my identification tag.

This year the people wanting to buy a solid 996 is INSANE! We were getting 4-5 calls per day from people wanting info about engine problems and which car to buy, till we simply stopped taking those calls. Everyone wants a car that we've touched, but those seldom come up for sale, like this one in your link has.

If people weren't so demanding and hard to please when it comes to a 15 year old used Porsche, I'd be inclined to buy and sell these cars with our work done. I can't do that. if I tried this, my reputation would probably last about 3 days, or I would tear someone's head off..... Maybe both. I have no patience for tire kickers, people with 10,000 pointless questions, while they search high and low for "their perfect baby".

ok, rant off!

You and me both. The process of selling this car has been pretty surreal, I'd prefer to not do it again anytime soon.

GNAT - here's the link to craigslist that now has photos. Hard to see anything in these though. It's currently undergoing a PPI and a check on the engine whine/belt noise at a reputable shop north of Boston...

I recently sold a Ferrari from my collection.... It was much less stressful to sell a 200K Ferrari than it is a 15k 996! This is no exaggeration at all!

I've sold a lot of cars outright instead of trading them in, but I have to say for the record that Porsche buyers are some of the weirdest I've ever seen. But fortunately, there was a least a few coming to the table that were serious. Having the service invoices, taking time to repair all issues, and above all... being totally honest about the car helped get it sold quickly.

IMHO, your average 996 is going to continue to depreciate especially the high mileage, unloved examples. But the 996 cars that have been taken care of and maintained properly will bring more money.

I've sold houses, and even businesses easier than selling a 996!

Why? Because the cars became too cheap, too quick.
