Doesn't look like it. Didn't the millennium edition come with chrome wheels?

It is a Millennium Edition and the rims look to be repainted. I'm in contact with the seller now and they don't seem to know what they have.

Well. Is it worth $27k?

Supercharged, Fister, big brakes on a Mk1.

https://dallas.craigslist.org/ndf/cto/5992418550.html

Looks tasty, and I'm pretty sure he spent a ton on getting it there. Personally, I wouldn't want a car someone else has boosted. Seems like a tough sale, but I'm not an expert on the mods market.

Also dealer says it's an automatic transmission. Oops.

Well, someone will buy it. Looks to be in great shape and it's the right color. Aerokit, spoiler and wheels make for a nice visual. Not something you see often - very unique car. But, I think whoever buys it should have a "replacement engine nest egg" set aside. I'd love to drive that thing just to see what it's like, but owning a blown M96 is not for the the faint of heart. Reminds me of a stripper - fun to date but probably don't wanna marry her.

So $27k buy-in, $10k engine reserve(which I agree with), and the buyer is gonna go all-in for a 99 996 at that level? I was gonna ask $23k for my car this spring, and hope for the best. Of course, I don't have all the mods, but it's a similar car, and no engine reserve needed. I think this cutey is going to be for sale for a while.

And if you got any time to get used to the boosted power you'll be VERY disappointed in the new performance. That nest egg probably really needs to be in the 30k range (10 for a motor and 20 to have it Raby-ized).

As is usually said when someone wants a FI M96, just spend the money on a 996TT.

I know we've discussed this Turbo with the crazy green interior before, but the price... $36k.

https://sfbay.craigslist.org/nby/cto/5978492852.html

How difficult/expensive would it be to do a full interior swap? Or at least put in some black seats and carpets to break up the greenness...

Agreed. If you are going to pressurize a M96 engine, better start from scratch. the 'bolt on' HP for the M96 is mostly for looks, if you really get into it hard, one will surely wind up with 'chunks in the sump'.

I like it. "So ugly it's cute".

If it had lower miles and a manual I would seriously considering buying it.
