That second one...wow. Must be a mistake. I've seen that Dealer sell a car of a similar age (a '99) for in the low 20's, so they might be a little high, but not nuts.

Random question. When you buy from a non-dealer how do you make sure you don't get ripped off? I'm worried that I'll bring cash or a certified check to a deal, have them sign the title and bill of sale, then I learn later that the car was stolen or the title is fake. On the other end if I'm selling and they bring a certified check, what about the check being fake? Cash is easy to get, but who has the time to count $20k, $30k?

Does anyone use escrow or have an uninterested party make sure everything goes through DMV/SOS and bankwise?

No checks, no cash - wire transfer is the way to go. Don't know what to tell you about the title. Bill of sale is just an extra document - don't really worry about that. I've done 6 out-of-state deals in the last 10 years with no issues. By the time I get ready to close I've got a pretty good idea about the veracity of the folks I'm dealing with through phone calls, face-to-face meetings, etc.

Best 99´ I´ve driven besides mine. This car is in really nice shape. Has the LN Retrofit. Interior is in great shape. Paint is very nice. Was an original owner car. Has all the history. New clutch and pressure plate. LSD option. Highly recommended.

Engine replaced by factory in 2003. Total mileage on car is 90k, 50k on engine. All records since new.
