If you do it anything like you did the E34/M73 (I'm sure you will) you'll be just fine...

Yeah it would be child's play for Riddler777 as long as he has all the parts.

Cool BMW project. I just finished doing the head gaskets on my brother's 850. Your engine came from.a.750, right?

The only complication will be rewiring the ECU to get the speed sensor and flashing it to use the one of the ABS sensor ones:

https://rennlist.com/forums/996-foru...y-problem.html

Pedals* and everything else is plug and play, plus you may need a new cluster or at least new cluster face to hide the tiptronic gear LEDs. Driveshafts are different sizes and believe boxster gearbox bolts to 996 motors.

* some thread suggests you need a new dash, that's nonsense. There's a guy in Saudi that tossed an LS1 into a tiptronic turbo and he just added the clutch pedal. The mounts are there.

Love the m70 project btw.

Edit: Totally random question (saw your scale in the m5 thread) - do you guys use azbuka or latin alphabet?

We converted a 964, it was fun Would not think that doing this to a 996 would be cost effective at all.

Cheers

well today is basically christmas for me, the gearbox arrived from Germany, and this is what it had inside it

maybe someone who has some parts would be interested in selling following items:

driveshafts
shifter cables
clutch and brake pedals
clutch master cylinder
flywheel/clutch kit

etc.

will keep you posted on the progress

slowly but surely the parts are arriving, I have located and payed for a pair of manual trans driveshafts

I was wondering maybe someone is parting out a manual car, and could offer a package deal of brake/clutch pedals, shifter/****/cables and clutch mastercilinder and maybe the clutch line to the slave cylinder.

Pm if you have something to offer.

riddler: contact Paul here: https://www.facebook.com/PKAutoPartsinc

He just got the 99 with a stick that he is parting out, has sold the engine and transmission and sold a bunch of interior parts. Perfect candidate.

so there is an update, big thanks to renlister evifenocvt, made a great deal on many interior bits I needed

so to this date I have this:

1. flywheel/clutch - check
2. driveshafts - check
3. transmission - check
4. shifting cables - check
5. pedals and small bits around them - check
6. stock shifter + boot - check
7. brake fluid reservoir with pipe to master cyl. - check
8. master cylinder - check

things I need still:

1. slave cylinder with piping at gearbox side
2. clutch release/throw fork
3. release bearing (probably will be bought new)
4. clutch lines from slave cylinder to master cylinder, if they are packable somehow (maybe it is doable slightly bending straightening and a lot of bubble wrap)

such things like cluster and steering wheel without tiprotnic buttons are not relevant at this stage

maybe someone has a mate who is tearing down manual 996

thanks

here is a printscreen from porsche etk: of the clutchlines that I need
