Help!! 2003 996 c4 tiptronic convert to 6 speed throttle body problem
Hi experts,
Please help me out here if you can, due to from where I come from, 6 speed 996 almost have no existence so I decided to convert my 996 c4 tip to manual 6 speed. I have completed the swapping but something unexpected came up, seems like the computer is giving the electronic throttle body limitations due to can not detect the tip trans, the throttle would not open up the the correct position according to the gas paddle, not until it hits 4500 rpm where the limitation will be off and the car flies. I need your expert advise on how do I resolve this problem, thank you in advance.

The ECU is confused. It's looking for a speed signal from the input shaft of the transmission which the 6 speed doesn't have. Different pin allocation and the ECU map is different, but it's possible to make it work.

HI Axeman
You mean I can make it work if i do the pin allocation and remap of my ecu?
Do you know how should I do the pin allocation? or swap to manual harness will make it work?
As for the remap, I can use the auto ECU with a remap maybe from GIAC to resolve it?
Thank you in advance!

Get yourself a 996 Factory Workshop Manual, in Diagnostic -section is a chart of Motronic pinouts.
The chart also has been floating around as downloadable file in 6bling's 996 turbo area.
Basically, after correct pins in correct plugs the rest should be reprogramming. GIAC or Softronic
Do you already have manual car's dashboard? Do you want one? I have an extra...

I have see 3 connection for Tiptronic on ECU:
1.) CAN HIGH tiptronic
2.) CAN LOW tiptronic
3.) RELEASE P\N
Do I unplug these? or I need to find out how the manual computer's pin layout and pin it accodingly?
