Default How do I fix this?

Don't ask me how it got this way. I just want to fix it. The tab on one side for the lid is broken. Suncoast sells this:

http://www.suncoastparts.com/product...Code=POTE996IN

Would this be an easy install? Thanks.

It shouldn't be that tough plus you can remove the piece and study it at a table. When the part arrives use it as more schooling to determine how it's attached and what fasteners are holding it. If it still doesn't make sense to you, just don't mangle it learning. It's light enough you can mail it to someone who already had one apart.

I suggest that you stop putting on your eyeliner on the way to work.

There are 2 ways to fix this. Assuming you still have the mirror you can order that part and follow these instructions

http://www.renntech.org/forums/topic...2?&#entry48358

Or you can order the non lighted version for a lot less, remove the cover and swap it out

Thank you! I think I have actually seen that DIY before. Somehow, I must have forgotten.

If I could find the house I want down there you could drive over to it and we could fix it over a beer! Oh well one of these days I'll find one...

PS This is a good item to try to find from a recycle place, might even cost about the same in the end.

I used little velcro adhesive dots to hold the vanity mirror closed. Done.

My wife was driving the car to the track today and said that the mirror swings down when the visor was used. I don't use the visor so this was the first time I saw the issue. Great timing on this post.

The visor does pull off so you can look at it without being cramped up in the car. Part on order, good track day, life is good.

There are probably 30+ of these on eBay now if you just want to replace it.

If you replace them with the non-lighted version, it will cut down on people doing s*** you don't want them doing in your Porsche anyway.

Looks like your visor swivels. My 02 Targa visors only flip down, is this normal? I find it annoying that I can't drop it down and over next to the drivers window when the sun is to the side.

Bend a piece of flat copper or metal to the shape and slip it in place. Easy DIY work.
