Tracking quality in terms of percent was good pre WWII. For the automotive industry you should be talking about quality in terms of sigma or ppm, not %.

im of the notion if I had to put a ton into our 996, I would either part it out, or plan to build it to run, I don't think I would build it stock at all

then it would not be a daily driver though.
