Default good Price?

http://seattle.en.craigslist.org/see...164300684.html

Looking at possibly purchasing a 996 na soon around spring. Wondering what a good price for a low miles one would be?

I would say it's a "fair" price if he has all the maintenance records and such. Judging by your screen name, I would get the best condition high mileage 996 with good maintenance history at the lowest price since you guys are used to things breaking(944). j/k!!! Good luck with your search!

They are also known to know how to fix them too.

Looks like a very good deal to me (the one in your link) assuming the car checks out OK during a PPI. And, it says "OBO" so I'm assuming you can get an even better deal!

An 02+ would offer some better features.

Yeah that's what I meant. If you're used to doing a lot of diy(as most 944 folks), might as well save some cash and go with the high mileage 996.

I agree, KK... that one still seems decent in terms of the car, price, mileage, etc.

But, in general, the 996.2 ('02 and up) is what I would look for.

Buy the car and sell the seats... the GT3's are a nice upgrade and worth quite a bit if you don't want 'em.

I think the Mk1 Aero is one of the most beautiful 911's out there.

I also vote "fair" price. Very low mileage, and the Aerokit and GT3 seats are highly desirable options. If the condition is as nice as they claim then you can't go too wrong.

I will also go the opposite direction from the conventional internet wisdom, I prefer the 996.1 over the 996.2. In my opinion (I owned a 2003 C2) the 996.1 is a much more raw and connected car, while still being very civilized and easy to drive daily. The 996.2 just felt too isolated for my tastes.

I don't like fatso's and we all know glove boxes aren't for real enthusiasts either. Also the PSM(please save me) is for wussies as well.

I think all things considered, the mileage, aero kit, etc etc, the price seems very fair. Pleeze don't forget the PPI, that is the most important part of purchasing a previously owned Porsche

Hopefully the seller of that 996 in Seattle can use some of the proceeds to get a camera with working focus Low miles is nice though I think there are a few $K in negotiations still on the table. PPI is a must. No mention of any service work.

If You are really a buyer, why wait till Spring? That looks like a great deal ? OBO ? Buy it now while the seller is worried about storing it for the winter, and enjoy driving it now. If you are not Local Northwest - but serious buyer I can take a look see - though it is a hours drive north of home.

That is the car I looked for and did not find.....if it does well on the PPI....it is an awesome deal at 24k.....the fact that you know he will take a little less because nobody gets full asking price...you should jump on that before someone else does....my opinion.
