When I last spoke to the current owner of my old C4S, he reported that the car has over 160k on it now.

Wow. Have you done any major engine work on it?

This thread is amazing. It's refreshing to see and hear these stories, as opposed to the reels and reams of disappointment found over in the IMSB threads.

My '02 Carrera just turned 175,000 k. Original engine. LN bearing at 145,000. Joe Gibbs oil, uses about 1/2 quart every 3,000 miles or so. Pulls like a freight train.

No major work other then the ims sometime in the last 20k best i can figure (receipt came with car). Bought the car with 198k as a roller with a crack in the oil pan skirt from a track accident. Didnt really do any research or have much in the way of maintainence records, i didnt really care. Car had a lot of nice parts and was going to swap the motor anyways. I was able to weld up the motor and it runs great. The engine sn is right for the age so im guessing its original. My guess is the cars that get driven do much better then the ones that sit.

1999 (3/98) Carrera 2, bought in Feb 2018 at 171k. Just turned 183k last weekend after running the mountains and the Tail of the Dragon
Daily driven and enjoyed...had originally planned a re-build at 200k..but after reading this I don't know. Original engine, LNE bearing at 148k by the PO, and she uses no oil. I do want to change the chain pads however. Pulled the pan a few weeks ago and the only thing I found were tiny bits of plastic from the chain pads. Perfect condition in there otherwise.
