What makes you think you're in the danger zone? Keep up on the preventive maintenance and it could easily go another 100,000 miles. The "Apollo" 996 just recently killed on the track by "Hoovie" went 243,000 and still had pretty good HP / Torque. It probably could have gone even farther if Hoovie had done any preventive maintenance whatsoever, he didn't.

Just wear and tear, really! Surely crank bearings and all that good stuff wears overtime, my car has done 10k/miles a year since it was new! had RMS done at some point (3 years ago)

This one got posted on the FB 996 Carrera owners page.
404.000km to date; engine failed after 380.000 (some bearing failure but not IMS) and got rebuild since. Owner says car was meticulously maintained by previous owner with regular oil changes.
