Choose a pic and stick it on a USB stick. Use the USB extension cable and insert it the USB stick.
Now click on the picture of the hot air balon on the right hand side and select USB!
Find your pick and select store.
Now Select home and then theme click on background and chose your pic.

I think it can only handle upto 32gb that's why your hdd didn't work

The blue dots don't change. I am not a fan of the JVC I bought. If I were doing it again, I would buy something else. That said, I don't think that the JVC presented any particular installation challenge. You have to be prepared to play with any installation with these install kits. The changes I described were not a big deal. The harder part for me was figuring out how to remove the horizontal divider between the OEM radio and the climate control unit. The answer for me was a grinder bit on a dremel tool to remove rivets. Be prepared to do a bit of creative thinking.

When it starts up

How did you manage to get the Porsche logo on the startup page? I just installed the Kenwood DNX 6960 and I could only get the logo to be the background wallpaper for the main menu. It still says Kenwood and Garmin on the startup. Any help would be appreciated.

I think this is what I did. It's been awhile.

· First connect the USB Thumbdrive containing image file.
· To enter setup Mode, press SRC+EJECT, then RESET.
· Press and hold FNC & EJECT keys, then press RESET Key.
· Release reset key, and hold FNC & EJECT Key until illumination activates.
· If you want to change the opening image to your own image (i.e., company logo), Press OEM Image.
· If you want to put original KENWOOD opening back, press KENWOOD image.
· Select the image you want to use.
· When the image is loaded, select Enter

thanks Jumper. I'll try it when I get home. One more question, do you know what size the file needs to be? I've tried reasonably hi-res files, and they still look pretty bad

thanks again for the info. Really appreciate it.

I think I used a 1920x1080 jpg. It may get resized when it is uploaded but as long as the file is the correct width and height it won't get distorted.

Great thread. I especially like the photos of different installation options and in particular the extras. Love that one with the custom Iphone holder. Very cool!

rednerrus,

PM me with your email address, and I can send you some pdf files of the install process that I used. I would also highly recommend buying the kit from eurosports on ebay. http://www.ebay.com/itm/99-01-PORSCH...ht_2177wt_1126
Helped tremendously. I installed mine, and while its a bit overwhelming at first, its totally doable if you take your time with it
