G-Force Performance Chip

I contacted Vivid Racing, and they informed me that raising the rev limit is up to the customer, ... I also asked if their flash has any affect on the coils and they said it has none.
From tuning motorcycles in the past, it would seem that this type of mod is best suited to cars that have a modded, high flow intakes and exhausts...
From experience, a high flow intake causes our cars to run lean (I confirmed this by having my indy mechanic hook up my car's computer to read the codes from it).
So perhaps flashing the ecu of a car modded with a high flow intake would not be a bad idea... however the power gains will be modest at best.

The fact of the matter is that chipping is an extremely crud way to manage the tune, they can never accurately account for every cars mods, its the last way of tuning I would adopt when modifying an engine. Way to risky.

Agreed, although Vivid does ask you what mods and octane fuel you are running before they send you a pre-set...the best way is to make a custom tune with the aid of a dyno... just like with a motorcycle, it is better to tune a Power Commander with a dyno (instead of downloading a preset tune).

Even then its just a guess, I doubt they have had every combination of mods on the dyno to come up with a chip for each brand of headers, intake, head work etc. Really modding the N/A 3.4 is a waste of time unless its for the track. And trust me, I have modded my fair share of cars in my day!

Yup, huge amount of money, and would be a waste on the street, but on the track (its a dedicated track car in class racing) its necessary to be competitive.

Well, you condemned them all, and I assume you haven't tried them all. But let's start with one. Tell us which flash you tried on a 3.4 M96 Porsche engine, what your before and after dyno numbers were, your driving impressions, that kind of thing.
You're impugning a lot of companies and a lot of customers here. That kind of makes you the prosecution, so to speak. So the burden of proof is yours. I'd be very interested to know what your direct, empirical experience was.
