The job will hopefully go pretty smooth, it's easier than it looks. If I remember correctly, you can get to it after removing the alternator with a couple of long extensions.

Also, I think it was Suncoast that has them on an exchange at under $100 if I remember correctly, worth checking.

Mayby if I have to take off the altinator too. I may as well do it also. I think Dharn is going to be my ace on one. Do I need any gaskets or anything?

You don't need to take off the alternator to do the starter. But you will need a couple of long extensions to get the bottom bolt. Wish I had a picture for you, but you go in under the alternator. Not to hard a DIY, remove the airbox and the throttle body for access. I think there is a thread on the DIY on one of the boards. Let me take a look.

Actually I think Doug is correct, all you need to remove are the airbox/throttle body, and the air distributor just behind the throttle body, then use a couple of long extensions.
Here's a write up on Renntech;

It was much easier than I would've thought, that I remember.

Yes, I forgot about taking off the plenum. That really helps with the access.

When the starter hangs are you sure that it is not the ign switch hanging?

I bought a 24" extension as shown in the DIY but could never get it in there, the thing was too long so it hit the edge of the body. I used a couple of 12" extensions instead.
