Look here to see what your other oil filter options are:

https://www.oilfilter-crossreference...vert/NAPA/1348

For whatever it's worth, WIX makes Napa Gold and Platinum oil filters.

I've got the IMSS on my AE and I ordered the 1348 from Napa. I actually ordered a few of them so I didn't have to mess with ordering these things every time I change the oil. The parts I received were manufactured wrong, or labeled wrong. They had the larger 13/16-16 thread pattern. I sent them back to Napa and ended up going to the local auto parts store for a Wix 51215. Jake Raby let me know that Napa had some huge backorder on the 1348. This was back in Nov. last year, so maybe things have cleared up since then.

Hey, Rob - so what did Jake end up doing on your car's engine? 4.0L? I thought I recalled you may have said that initially your car wasn't a candidate for the IMSS because of bore scoring. Thanks. Ted

Hi Ted,
I had Jake's team do a full reconstruction, 4.0L. I did opt for the street performer. The guys at FSI do some very impressive work. The bore scoring was just bad enough that I didn't want to live with it. Crazy the engine was scored after just 36,000 miles. The working theory is that the previous owner followed factory service intervals to a tee - which meant oil change every 2 years given the lack of time the engine was getting.

Couldn't be happier now!
Rob

Back from another 4,000+mile trip. Burns no oil and runs great.

Stayed in Naples, Fl. for a few days, way too hot!

Stopped by Porsche USA to see what's happening, but everyone was Out to Lunch!

Hello all,
I am looking to buy my first Porsche. I have found a 40th anniversary edition in my price range. It has had a lot of things replaced on it but apparently it has had a small front end accident. I haven't been to see it yet. It is at my local Porsche dealer which I am going to see tomorrow. What sort of things should I be asking?
Here is what has been replaced.
Just arrived! Very rare 40th Anniversary 911. GT
Silver Metallic over a black extended natural leather
interior, and loaded with Bose, heated sport seats, and
most importantly FACTORY X51 POWERKIT
PACKAGE. Completely original and unmolested, no
modifications, Southern climate & winter-free, the car
drives like NEW. $15k+ engine-out service performed
at 120k km, including IMS retrofit, new clutch,
alternator, starter, plugs, AOS, water pump, new seals,
2nd gear reinforcement, and a thorough inspection
(including bore scope and compression). Buy with
complete confidence. Full service, new front
brakes/tires, and inspection just completed in our
service department.

That is 911 40th Nr. 0901. Started life in Florida and made her way up to Canada. Porsche of London sold the car to her most recent owner in May 2021. A prior owner in Halifax gave this info: "120,000km engine crated and sent to EBS racing in Nevada - 911 Surgeons for a better than factory full rebuild". The CARFAX (available in the Autotrader.ca ad) has info on whatever damage there had been. https://www.autotrader.ca/a/porsche/...0929133442794/

If you look at the car list on the 911 40th Registry website you can see more about the car's history: https://www.40jahre911.com/the-registry-car-lists

If you have any more questions I'm happy to try to help. Not many in Canada that come up for sale these days.

Ted

Any Of You Porsche people recognize this pen, and have any idea of it's value?

Default Pen

Does the pen have the PORSCHE lettering on it?

Probably not worth much.
