No, not at all. I use the passenger seat or rear seats for any extra storage.

That there is a spot on the body just in front of the rear wheels (between the plastic wheel liner and the steel wheel well - right behind those little plastic corner thingies...) where dirt collects and builds up over the years (probably since new, and it's a '99) and hold moisture and rots the steel... I was able to easily poke my finger through on both sides. Fortunately, the rot is inside the wheel well and not to the outside/rocker panel. It should be a fairly easy fix/patch - just weld in a new piece of steel, do a little grinding, prime, undercoat and paint. It doesn't have to be pretty, as it will never be seen - I just don't want tit to rust again...

If you have converted from lug bolts to studs and lug nuts, be advised that some manufacturers consider their studs to be "wear items" that should be replaced or inspected every two years. Three out of the five studs holding my driver-side rear wheel failed in a 2-week period on my 996 less than two years after installation.

There are many, many fans of stud conversion, but I'm no longer one of them. If that third stud had failed anywhere else, it could have been disastrous. I'll be running factory lug bolts from now on.

Snapped? Perhaps the wrong torque? Is the torque the same for studs and bolts? I know my 3 cars are all different. The 996 is 96 ft lbs. The Vette is 100 ft lbs. and the SS is 140 ft lbs!! So be careful to match the torque correctly.

That little space between the passenger door and seat is designed to store an umbrella. I had no idea.

I learned yesterday that when I brake hard, my horn honks. I don't think it is supposed to do that though.

Ha! No, but I drove a 54 Chevy that did that years ago. Electric wire crossed somewhere!

It doesn't matter how much it costs to maintain your Porsche. It only matters what your wife thinks it costs.
