In it Porsche personnel claim the new motor is superior to the old GT1 based unit used in the GT3. They also claim the oiling system is superior to the dry sumped motor and no more RMS failures. Sounds pretty good.

Pretty cool. Glad to see they're addressing the issue and improving the car.

Maybe I'll buy a used one in ten years when mine feels outdated!

I think 10 years to get it right is 10 years too long, personally, but I'm glad they are stepping up the specific output at last. I went through this exercise last year, of comparing 997 to 996 and just not feeling any real world improvement to acceleration. And I'm sure eventually I'll get over the ugly taillights!

I would love to see the same improvements to output and fitting a PDK to cayman S down the line, I think that would be very fun too.

BTW that simulator video is just awesome

I know it won't happen, but the new 3.8 and the other improvements in a Cayman would surely shut down Ferrari in GT2. Oh well...

I have to agree there....I was thinking the MKII 997 would be the easy choice for me in a few years...except they blew it on the tailights imo....they were so close.

Funny, the taillights look fine to me, but the rectangular exhausts are ugly...easier to change out than taillights, though!
