nothing personal guys, but it sounds like typical Porsche marketing BS to me. I'll bet someone a good belgian beer that the GT-1 block will still be used in GT3/turbos and the "new and improved" M96 will be that: another improvement on a flawed original design.

I posted it in the Off Topic forum and I wasn't griping, just giving you heads up.

Relax.

+1... the gt3 engine has been soooooo reliable. Why change the ingredient.

That should be obvious.

$$

The M96 is a lot cheaper to produce. If Porsche can fix the weaknesses and make it as good or better than the old GT1 it's a win-win for the customer and for Porsche.

Time will tell if there is substance to the claim, but it sounds promising.

Turbo + Direct Injection + More Boost (Chip) can be a very nice thing indeed, regardless of whether or not it's the GT1 or this new one, I can't wait to see what the Direct Injection does to the turbo and GT2, whenever that eventually happens

totally agree, Porsche messed up on this. First noticed this on the Cayenne. Guess Porsche is getting to be the all the other car companies. Changing things that don't need to be changed and add no value add all.
PDK steering wheel sucks. Hopefully there will be an after market wheel to go to the true F1 style paddle shifters.
