I guess we'll give you guys the cameras and you can take the photos of the ol'pigs coming up the hill.

Hey Meister, you in? You'd have to take Ortega Hwy to get here....and that would be so awful!

So has a time been decided? It sounds like Palomar gets pretty busy and is better if we gather at around six or so... Man, even if half of the cars show up it'll be something!

I'm going to run it today in a couple of minutes to see the schedule. If we go too early we'll be fiddling our thumbs at the winery waiting for it to open.

I'll let you know.

Well, I went out today and there were hardly any bikes or cars. I left my house at 8:30, stopped and took some video from the vista on Palomar (Which I caught a couple of deer trying to hitch a ride with a bike.)

I stopped at the top, talked to some bikers, drove to the observatory then down the other side and was near the winery by 11am. So I think if we leave at 8:30am and have some longer stops (to jump start the 944s/ let them add coolant) We can make it to the winery at the right time. Any earlier and we'll be sticking our thumbs in our tail pipes for a half an hour or more.

Here's a photo from today at the vista....

Here's a crappy video of the bikes going up. The first bike almost hit a doe and fawn right at the end, you can sort of see the deer....

That area looks familiar, Ed.

I took my wife's 750i to Palomar once. Yes, a 7 series! The car handled beautifully even following a 350Z and a GSXR

Sweet. I should have video'd the old lady in the geo metro. She was hauling *** down the hill with a bike racing behind her. Right where you took your photo she was (I swear) just loosing traction and the outer wheels where "bending" over as she went around. It was awesome.

So to everyone 8am departure from Starbucks! This will be one big Porsche group.....

Jawohl! I'm still in, but yeah I haven't gone near Ortega since they started construction.

Guess I'll need to come around the horn somehow....I'll map it out or let me know if you have an idea coming from Mission Viejo.

Ed,

Mind if I join you? I used to organize a few drives a few years back for some of the area's Boxster owners. I know those roads fairly well. Ever do Mesa Grande? Nice little 7 mile stretch. Wasn't very well known then but I'm sure everyone knows it now.

Let me know,

Thanks,

SJ
