Guys, you really have it going... have been following this thread ever since it started and maybe I have to come up from Charlotte one of these weeks to join you guys for a Saturday AM drive!

Sean - It would be great to have you on a ride. You can tell from the photos that you'd probably have about 15 different cars in which you could ride. You'd enjoy your time with any of the people in our group.
Dutchie - Thanks for the compliment. We're fortunate to have connected through Rennlist. We'd love to meet you and you're always welcome. Also, I'd love to meet up with some of the Charlotte crowd - I get an occasional e-mail from a few of your local Porsche owners and it seems like a very active community.

Also Bob I reccomned a group drive out to charlotte. I have an extremely fun route that me and a few of my motrcycle buddies take. The down side is that it is about 5 hours long.

Hey, Alex - I may be alone in this, but 5 hours of fun driving is fine by me - probably an overnight. Let's pick a date during the spring or fall and make it an event.

Well, that pretty much answers the question I was going to ask:
"Anyone interested in Porschefest on May 23-24? It's in ASHEVILLE (That's west of Charlotte)! I just read about it in this month's Tobacco Roads".
Looks like it'll be Alex and me driving longer distances...

I've been on the outside fringes of the planning committee for Porschefest and Jim Peterson looks like he's putting together a great weekend!
FYI, if you are thinking of going, sign up soon, then get a cottage at the host hotel - 2 bedroom with living space that cost almost the same as a single room in the hotel! We've already got 2 booked and the "bar" is planned out.

Thanks for the info., Bob. I've wanted to drive in the Asheville area and into TN for years now. I last drove that route 3 years ago when I moved from Memphis to Raleigh. It's beautiful country. And Porchefest sounds like a great event. I'll talk to my wife about it tonight.
