I agree, good size group this morning. Good to see everyone. Sorry I had to bail on the drive, was really looking forward to it, but having been gone all week had to do some catching up at home and Christmas shopping. Hopefully we can take a run next week.
Bob or Michael - looking forward to pictures from your drive this morning.
Have a Merry Chistmas all, see you next week.

Agreed! It was great getting back out to the Wake Zone. Great drive as well, although sorry for having to bail out on 55 near Apex; too much coffee and water before I left.

Even with some of those crappy back roads, the stock suspension handles them I think extremely well.

Another great start to a weekend. Here's what you miss out on when you sleep in too late: The result was the one air-cooled guy in the middle, surrounded by the faster water-cooled machines. After being either first or last on almost all of the runs, it was great in the middle to see terrific cars ahead and in the mirror!

4 in front, led by Helmut, followed by Charles, Manil and Jeff

4 behind, John, George, Scott and Bob - or is it now TrackBob?

I later ran into another Porsche owner I know who may show up next week. I'll see you guys then.

Don't worry, you weren't the only one. I drove by about 9:50 and the parking lot was empty.

Was a ton of fun guys!
Clean run.
No tickets or accidents.

The only casualty was the fuzzy rodent that kamakazeed my front left tire.

Was great meeting everyone today.... seem's I neet to get up earlier.... (7:30 start??)

Great drive, little damp conditions that seemed to advantage Charles when accelerating hard from stops......think I need a limited slip....

Sorry for missing the last left turn....hesitated but would have been the right road that would have brought us back to Lake Harrison and 64...
Below the correct rout for the drive.... http://maps.google.com/maps?f=d&sadd...,0.423317&z=12

Thank's for the great pictures and merry christmas to everyone.

PS: just wrote a letter to Santa for one of these.... http://www.goprocamera.com/index7.htm

Great pictures, Michael (as usual). Today's meeting was just what the doctor ordered. I'll post some pictures later on.

Did anyone notice the Dodge Charger unmarked car near the end? Good thing Helmut kept us at the speed limit - great instincts.

Great fun guys....Helmut...that was a terrific route....I had no idea where we were but it was just perfect....I held back somewhat on the wet curves...a wet surface make me a little nervous...but I had a blast...just what I needed after a hard week of hand to hand combat with corporate America....

Helmut...is there anyway I can take the route you provided on google maps and feed it into a Garmin GPS unit?

After leaving the Wake Zone, we followed Helmut on a new route through the countryside between Apex and Holly Springs. It was great, even though the weather was a little overcast.

If you're in town next weekend, a few of us will be meeting at the Wake Zone as usual.

In the meantime, everyone have a fantastic holiday with your loved ones and family. See you soon!

Bob
